Oh if I had the time to enjoy this! Started out waking to sunrise over the Clarence River with fog hovering and wallabies fighting on the lawn and bouncing down the verandah. But after a coffee we had to be back on the road again! Started with Book Warehouse in Lismore (and a quick diversion to the hospital to drop off a card) where we heard about the floods (60% of their books put up the lift into the ceiling and saved despite levels 2 1/2 metres higher than the room we were in where the walls showed signs of the experience!). Then Book Warehouse Lennox Heads and Book Room Byron Bay (no sign of Chris Hemsworth) to Mullumbimby Books with more flood stories – owner lost two houses and a car and a customer had a partner with PTSD from it (bought our Two Steps books to help – thought a Camino might help…) and a friend with recent diagnosis of ASD as well as his child so got The Rosie Project too! Navigated roadworks to get to Boardwalk Books in Kingscliff then QBD Tweed Heads (who were delighted to see us as authors often miss them) and hen the final challenge of a VERY large shopping mall to find QBD Broadbeach/Pacific Fair and finally Bookface where we were in the top six last week. Now a night off with fabulous views on Southport.
